Savage sails into the Blue with Brocade

Vendor sponsors solo rowing endeavour

Storage vendor Brocade has confirmed its green credentials by sponsoring a solo rowing attempt across the Pacific Ocean by British sailor Roz Savage. Savage, 39, is hoping to become the first ever woman to row solo across the Pacific and was due to set off from San Francisco this week in her 24-foot rowing boat, named The Brocade. Her 6,700 mile journey will take her through Hawaii and Tuvalu before she eventually arrives in Australia. The purpose of the trip is to raise awareness of the effect pollution is having on ocean and marine wildlife as part of the Blue Frontier Campaign.“I’m trying to show that one person and their actions can, and do, make a difference,” Savage said.
