Ingram Micro in talks with CCD staff over overlaps

Credit control thought to be one area broadliner will make cuts following closure of acquisition

Ingram Micro said the conversations were "customary in these types of mergers"

Ingram Micro has confirmed it is in talks with a number of former Computacenter Distribution (CCD) staff whose roles potentially conflict with those of existing employees.

The broadliner agreed to buy CCD in October and 40 staff moved across to its Maidenhead office this week following the closure of the deal.

CCD’s credit team, which comprises five staff, is believed to be one area Ingram is looking at closely.

The distributor stressed there are no confirmed redundancies as yet, but admitted it was examining possible overlaps.

“As is customary in these types of mergers, conversations are taking place with some employees where there may be an overlap in roles between the two companies,” said an Ingram Micro representative in a statement sent to CRN.

It added that “it is our policy not to comment on what are the specifics of private conversations with our employees”.
