AV specialist to help C2000 in key accounts

Resellers will benefit from focused AV propositions and account manager's expertise

Distributer Computer 2000 (C2000) is ramping up its audiovisual (AV) business by recruiting a dedicated AV specialist to focus on building strong relationships with key reseller accounts.

Tracy Barrow has rejoined C2000, having spent two years with AV distributor Maverick as key account manager. Prior to that she spent five years with C2000 in a variety of roles, but has returned to the role of business development manager.

Clive Hailstone, general manager of specialist business units, told CRN: “Tracy’s main role is to work with us to put together AV propositions for IT resellers. She will also deal with AV specialists. It is part of our strategy to beef up the AV side of the business. Our desire is to make sure we’re pulling together all our AV offerings.”

“She’ll be the connection between our product management team, sales team and customers and, will help the sales team to develop AV propositions,” he added.

Barrow said: “C2000 is taking a very positive approach to the AV market, which has broadened considerably in the last two years. There is now much more potential to attach AV sales to mainstream products such as laptops, and greater interest in high definition audio and video.

“C2000 has very strong relationships with vendors, who have been crying out for C2000 to pull together a strong AV proposition. Although C2000 has had an AV side of the business, it hasn’t been proactively going after customers, which is something we will now do.”

Brian Ebury, AV sales manager at Beta Distribution, said: “We used to deal with Tracy a lot when she was at Maverick and found her to be a trusted source. It is good news for C2000 that Tracy has returned; I’ll be thinking of buying more AV products through C2000 in the future.”
