Security VAR NTS doubles in size
Reseller claims it is inflicting pain on larger managed service providers as it doubles annual sales and profits
Shopping around: NTS cited its IPS win with Morrisons as proof that end users are siding with smaller, more flexible suppliers
Security reseller Network Technology Solutions (NTS) defied the downturn last year by doubling revenues and profits as it continues to rack up more big-name wins.
The Juniper and Check Point partner claims to have beaten off larger competitors on a number of managed services deals recently, including with supermarket giant Morrisons.
For the year to 31 December, NTS said it posted turnover of £6.5m, compared with £3.2m a year earlier. Pre-tax profit rose from £320,000 to £720,000.
Director Phil Dick claimed NTS was giving a bloody nose to some of its larger rivals.
He said: “A lot of larger end users traditionally wouldn’t have dealt with a company of our profile but are now welcoming us with open arms. They are no longer satisfied with the one-size-fits-all approach of the larger service providers.”
Dick highlighted a managed intrusion prevention and detection win with Morrisons in the first quarter.
“We put together a full support and managed services wraparound that met their needs, rather than plugging them into a standard managed services offering,” he said.
Dick said NTS also recently won a 150-Juniper firewall deal with North Yorkshire and York Primary Care Trust which included a managed services wraparound.
Dick claimed NTS, which has offices in London and Bradford, is on course to reach £9.5m turnover this year.
