Unipalm makes Nokia service vendor changes
Security distributor Unipalm has dropped channel services vendor Trend Network Services
Security distributor Unipalm has dropped channel services vendor Trend Network Services as its Nokia hardware support partner in favour of Networks First.
Unipalm said that a partnership with Networks First will allow it to expand on its current offerings and provide a wider and more flexible service portfolio.
“We decided to part company with Trend and ended the contract based on its channel policy and service levels, which we were unhappy with,” said Sally Barton, director of professional services at Unipalm.
Networks First began working with Unipalm in June. It will now assume all of Trend’s previous responsibilities and provide end-user onsite Nokia appliance care on behalf of Unipalm.
“Working with two partners was never the ideal situation. Networks First will now be our sole provider,” Barton added.
Peter Titmus, managing director of Networks First, said using a sole services vendor makes things easier and clearer for all concerned.
“Unipalm wants a set framework, such as service-level agreements, and perhaps Trend didn’t give it that. This gives us exclusivity now and it will make things easier and clearer for resellers."
“We will provide service levels largely based on Nokia hardware, but we will also look to expand into services,” he said.
Last month Networks First won a deal with Westcon which allows it to supply round-the-clock helpdesk and support services for the distributor’s data product portfolio (CRN, 5 September).
