Quadratec Software has appointed Headway Technology Group as a distribution partner for UK and Ireland.
Headway will now act as a distributor for the Time Navigator software suite, a secure data storage solution for multi-platform back-up, archive and restoration.
Dave Morris, storage product manager at Headway, said: "We are very pleased to have formed an alliance with Quadratec, because it is clear that Time Navigator back-up software has the potential to be a market leader and we look forward to helping them reach that goal."
The product will allow Headway to offer customers a complete back-up solution and will complement the tape and optical solutions already initiated, he said.
Andrew Walley, managing director at Quadratec, said: "Headway has a great presence in the document image market and is moving into the storage arena. Headway is a company that has got momentum going into the market. It made sense for Quadratec to put in place this partnership, which has such a dynamic approach to the storage market."
Walley also said that he believed the storage market to be entering a period of rapid growth, because the amount of data that companies are looking to store is growing every day. "Quadratec is hoping to do £400,000 [worth of business] with Headway, as it has a good customer base in the financial and banking institutions. Banking is a sector that we are very interested in breaking into," he said.
"The market certainly is showing encouraging signs, and I think there is plenty of room for Quadratec. We have adopted an aggressive approach to new economy companies, internet service providers and application service providers because they will all need some form of secure data storage. I am sure that all the current storage players are doing very well on this," he added.
