TDK modems for multicultural use

The TDK Globalclass V.34 PCMCIA modem is being shipped by PCMCIA specialist PPCP.

The TDK V.34 runs at 28,800bps for data and 14,400bps to send and receive faxes. It has an internal DAA so the telephone cable needs no additional hardware.

Supplied with Windows communications/fax software, the country's relevant connection codes are downloaded to the modem, allowing easy changing of settings when travelling.

The modem is configurable directly from Windows software for the country in which it is being used, and complies with the PTT requirements of 17 countries, including the UK, the US, Germany, Italy, Australia and Scandinavia.

More international approvals are expected to be announced shortly by TDK, and users will be able to add these to their modems free via TDK's BBS.
