Bubbly all round: Blue Chip received a special visit from Microsoft to celebrate its success

VAR Blue Chip has bucked the economic trend by celebrating strong growth in its training business.

The firm received a special visit at its Southampton-based training centre from general manager of Microsoft Learning, Lutz Ziob, who had made a detour to the UK on his way to Seattle, with a delivery of champagne to celebrate the success.

Blue Chip established specialist training centres in Southampton and Leeds to cope with demand from clients and industry professionals looking to further develop their skills. It receives 175 delegates a month on average.

Sarah Grace, partner account manager at Microsoft Learning, said: “Blue Chip training has shown amazing growth in a difficult year, with 14 per cent growth in Microsoft Official Curriculum Courses, and 10.5 per cent growth in Microsoft Certification.”

Richard Cook, managing director of Blue Chip, said: “We have certainly seen an upturn in training requirements in all technologies, as companies either look to upskill their IT workforce to reduce support costs, or increase productivity, while individuals are also looking to undertake specific training for their CVS.

“It is great to be congratulated by Microsoft in such a personal way and it is testament to both our dedicated training team and the specialist training facilities at our Southampton and Leeds centres, that we have been able to meet the growing demand for high-quality IT training.”
