Invensys to add resellers to Kanguru's pouch

Distributor hunts resellers to take on "affordable" secure flash drive technology

Invensys claims Kanguru is 20-30 per cent cheaper than rival solutions

Distributor Invensys Technology has vowed to bring affordability to the secure flash drive market as it hunts for resellers for new vendor signing Kanguru.

Invensys managing director Karl Broderick said that Kanguru works out 20 to 30 per cent cheaper than market leaders IronKey and SafeStick. Broderick previously worked with IronKey when he was sales director at distributor Simms.

Broderick added that Invensys is aiming to recruit 25 to 30 hardware and security resellers for Kanguru over the next quarter.

“IronKey is the market leader but is expensive and has a slightly rigid pricing model,” he said. “Kanguru offers affordability and a total turnkey solution.”

Resellers will benefit from the pipeline of leads Invensys has generated since April, according to Broderick.

“We have 20 evaluations going on in public and private sector organisations,” he said. “We will push these back to resellers.”

Kanguru already works with software distributor Appspeed, but managing director Grahame Smee said it was not a key vendor.

“Kanguru is still part of our portfolio, but we have been focusing on some more lucrative areas over the past six to nine months,” he said.
