Memory distributor Memory Plus has bought rival upgrade specialist Evergreen Technologies' UK arm for an undisclosed sum.
Swindon-based Memory Plus, which was the subject of a management buy-out earlier this year, completed the deal last month. The acquisition will see the company take on Evergreen's UK customers and staff.
Dave Flack, director of marketing at Memory Plus, said: "Our product range will include Evergreen's processor upgrades, interface cards and FireWire products aimed at both the PC and Mac market, and consumer devices alongside Flash products, upgrade software and OEM memory products from Memory Plus."
The company is considering a number of future strategic partnerships as well as other acquisitions, he added.
Jon Blows, managing director of Memory Plus, said: "This agreement gives us exclusive supply from this month onwards of Evergreen Technologies' excellent product portfolio for Europe, Middle East & Africa."
The acquisition fits very well with Memory Plus' future expansion plans, he said, claiming that now was the "right market" for such deals.
Sue Elsey, who will remain as managing director of Evergreen UK, said: "The agreement will undoubtedly open up new opportunities both for us and our channel partners." She added that Evergreen's existing customers will be supported with an "even wider portfolio of products".
