It's payback time for VARs with GSEC1
Vendor's recruitment push offers channel money-back incentive
Internet Security Management (ISM) vendor Global Security 1 (GSEC1) is embarking on a channel recruitment drive and has signed Northamber as its first UK distributor.
The vendor has spent the past three years developing its Prodigy range, due to be launched next month, which features intrusion detection, web content filtering, firewall, anti-virus and bandwidth management in one device.
Rob Billington, head of sales EMEA at GSEC1, said the vendor will be signing two more distributors over the coming weeks.
"Because our products are aimed at SMEs, everything we do will go through the channel. All of the technology has been developed in-house, including the software parts of the box, which gives us an advantage over some of the competition," he claimed.
Partners will be divided into two levels: Accredited and Non-Accredited. Billington said the vendor will offer incentives, including a Payback Scheme, where at the end of every quarter, each VAR will be given a percentage back from each box sold.
Accredited partners will receive higher rebates and will also qualify for lead generation.
However, Billington added that the biggest differentiator partners can offer customers is indemnity cover against data loss of up to a maximum of £125,000 with every device sold.
"This will provide a real value-add proposition. We know none of the competition offers anything like it," he said. The firm hopes to recruit a "cross-section" of VARs, Billington added.
"We not only want traditional security VARs but also networking and comms dealers that have not even considered offering security products yet," he said.
Henry Matthews, managing director of Northamber, said: "Firms are increasingly aware of the need for security and are looking for more than just a firewall. GSEC1's products offer a truly effective ISM device."
