Pentura signs ISS managed services deal

VAR becomes first managed security services partner for IBM security division

Security VAR Pentura has become the first managed security services (MSS) partner for Internet Security Systems (ISS), the security division of IBM.

Under the deal, Pentura will rebrand ISS' MSS allowing the company to be more intimate with customers and to be positioned more at the heart of its customers' security operations.

Pentura will call its wired managed security service LANSweeper, which complements its extising wireless managed security service AIRSweeper.

Andrew Lawton, director for Northern Europe at ISS, said: "As we continue to ramp up our channel activity, this agreement bears testament to our commitment to channel partners. It is a milestone achievement for ISS in the UK and one which we hope to continue building upon with Pentura and our entire partner base.”

Danny White, sales director at Pentura, said: "Over the past year, we have seen a growing demand from our customers for a service that can help improve security posture while reducing personnel cost overheads and security hardware and software system costs. Using ISS Managed Security Services enables us to let our customers optimise resources, reduce operational costs and improve flexibility and responsiveness, while addressing their specific regulatory requirements and providing them with ‘ahead of the threat’ protection. By working with ISS, we can leverage a managed security services offering that not only has a proven track record of success, but that also enables us to take security services to market quickly.”
