Vars to sell Mercury frame relay service
Mercury Communications said it will complete its shift to data services with the launch of a wide area ATM offering on 2 January and is looking for Vars to sell the frame relay service it introduced in June.
The number two UK telco said ATM would eventually require a dealer channel, but initially would be sold either direct to large corporates or through IT vendors wanting to offer a complete Lan-to-Wan solution to their channel.
Lance Spencer, manager of data and customised services at Mercury, said it would partner with Siemens, K Net and Newbridge Networks, and was seeking other Lan ATM vendors. 'We want to pull together best-of-breed solutions to offer a complete package,' he said.
Spencer added Mercury wanted to sign up Vars and systems integrators for its Data Link frame relay service and was looking for high-quality partners selling into corporates.
