Kingston Technology drives SSD sales

Vendor unveils a host of incentives and initiatives to help its channel maximise SSD takeup

Ann Keefe: The key to SSD success is ensuring end user customers are educated

Memory and flash giant Kingston Technology has launched a range of channel incentives, promotions and training to drive Solid State Drive (SSD) adoption across EMEA.

The vendor’s Kingston Digital Europe division has equipped its channel partners with notebook, desktop and server SSDs and is offering VARs dedicated training on the technology so that representatives can show their customers the ease of upgrading to SSD bundles.

Kingston is also offering its EMEA partners installation videos and sales support materials on its partner portal. Trusted VARs will also have access to promotions on SSD sales and evaluation units for testing.

Ann Keefe, regional director UK & Ireland at Kingston Technology, said: “We are running a series of promotions, incentives, events and training courses to ensure that our channel partners have all the materials, collateral and support they need to drive sales in the SSD market.

“The key to success with SSDs is ensuring that end-users are educated on the benefits and realise how easy it is to upgrade using our SSDNow upgrade kits that are available through our partners.

“Once the myths surrounding SSDs are expelled, we expect to see increased uptake as consumers seek the performance and reliability benefits that come from SSD technology.”

Keefe added that Kingston has seen SSD revenues rocked by 141 per cent in September/October 2009, and said the vendor was confident for the future.

“We are looking forward to working with our channel partners to continue to make progress in the SSD market. Our growth figures are thanks to the close relationships we have with our channel partners and also signify the strength of this market and increased uptake by consumers and businesses.

“We hope that by working further with our channel, and equipping them with more support and materials needed to increase awareness on the benefits of SSD upgrades, we can all gain further from this exciting technology,” she added.
