MAXStream revolution
New broadband service could revolutionise the voice over IP sector
Resellers have hailed the launch of a new broadband service they believe could revolutionise the voice over IP (VoIP) sector.
MAXStream broadband, an ADSL service provided by ISP Viatel, is expected to provide greater margins and managed services to resellers by offering up to three times more bandwidth, which allows users to make more VoIP calls.
“We have trialled the service with one of our customers and it worked excellently,” said Glenn Flowers, sales manager at Viatel reseller, Fusion Media Networks.
“There’s a real market out there for this type of service, as there is not another product that can offer similar performance.”
Other resellers in the channel echoed such views and said the service will provide a real opportunity for growth in smaller companies.
Chris McAuley, director of IP services at VAR CC Engineering, said: “There is a gap in the market and the MAXStream service can fill it.
“It is useful for smaller companies in the channel because it is very cost effective. It is cheap to run and these smaller businesses can really benefit from this,” he said.
