Tumbleweed still on the hunt for partners

Email security vendor sees channel as best way for growth

Six months after its UK channel launch, email security vendor Tumbleweed is still actively looking for partners to grow its market share.

The vendor, which announced an aggressive channel push last year (CRN, 10 October), recently added two new partners to its channel. Business Systems International (BSI) and Distributor Systems International (DSI) were recruited to push its products in the local government and financial services sectors.

Tumbleweed’s flagship products include anti-spam software Mail-Gate, file-exchange software SecureTransport and digital certificate software Validation Authority.

Soeren Bech, business director for EMEA at Tumbleweed, said: “Since we announced our channel programme we have been developing various campaigns to help partners. They are now ready. Our products have also been optimised for the channel.”

Bech said the appointment of BSI and DSI will give the vendor access to key vertical markets.

“We will look at signing more partners, particularly in email security,” he added. “Ideally we would like to have about 10 fully accredited partners on board.”

Kevin Evans, marketing manager at BSI, said: “The majority of our business is in the finance sector. One of the main thrusts of the finance sector has been security, with document security also a major part of that.”

Evans said the firm had lookedat a number of different products and vendors.

“We feel from a sales and technical point of view that Tumbleweed offers what we are looking for on the compliance side,” he said. “We are very happy to partner with it and are confident it will add value to our portfolio.”
