PEGASUS

Pegasus reported interim pre-tax profit of £86,000 for the six months ended 30 June, down from £632,000 in the same period a year ago. Turnover increased 10 percent from £7.4m last year to £8.1m.

SHERWOOD

Sherwood International posted a 56 percent growth in pre-tax profit for the six months ended 30 June, to £2.9m from £1.8m a year ago. Turnover grew 24 percent to £22.5m, up from £18.1m a year earlier.

IRIDIUM

Beleaguered satellite phone company Iridium has filed for bankruptcy protection after defaulting on an $800m loan. The company has promised the move will not interrupt its global service and it will come up with a restructuring plan within 30 days.

TULIP

Tulip Computers posted a loss of FI2.8m for the six months ended 30 June.

Turnover declined 25 percent to FI97.1m, which the company said was affected by the normal seasonal pattern. The company added that it expected to make a profit for the current financial year.

COMPUTER ASSOCIATES

A US federal court has dismissed a suit brought by CSC following CA's unsuccessful takeover attempt of the IT services company last year. CSC claimed CA had used or acquired confidential information when it launched the hostile bid.
