Clarity signs deal with Veritas
Distributor also on look-out for three or four more new vendor partners
Distributor Clarity Technology has widened its focus by signing Veritas as a new vendor partner.
The firm, which already partners with Sun, Nortel and F5, revealed to CRN it also hopes to sign two or three more new vendor partners in the coming year.
Clarity will distribute Veritas's i3 application performance management software to its network of system integrator, outsource and service provider partners.
Steven Rose, UK and Ireland vice-president at Veritas, said: "As Veritas expands its product offering into the enterprise application market we need a hybrid distribution partner with the reach, relationships and expertise to help us succeed.
"We are confident that this partnership will help us to develop new channels and incremental routes to market."
Chris Whiteley, product marketing manager at Clarity, said: "Veritas has a history of storage and data management and is very strong in utility computing. We are looking at new focus areas.
"Our aim is not to become yet another broadline distributor, but to specialise in technology that may not be 'bleeding edge' but is also not quite mainstream."
Whiteley added that the distributor is open to partnering with other established vendors that are "looking to bring new technology to market".
