eEye sees Interquad deal as boost for VARs
Security vendor signs new distributor and parts company with Fresh Egg
Network security and vulnerability management vendor eEye Digital Security has partnered with Interquad to help it boost its UK channel.
The vendor is to part company with its existing UK distributor Fresh Egg this week, with both firms claiming the decision was “amicable and mutual”.
Instead eEye will work with Inter-quad as its sole distributor in the UK to recruit a network of resellers to sell its Blink endpoint vulnerability product.
Ross Brown, chief operating officer at eEye, said Interquad was a good fit for the vendor.
“We need to work with partners that translate our technology into solutions for customers. That is why we turned to Interquad as we felt they were the best in terms of building a market and having a great network of reseller partners.”
Brown said the vendor is offering partners between 35 and 40 per cent margins on a ‘sustainable’ basis, and is also putting in place a deal registration programme.
Sean Fane, managing director of Interquad was confident eEye’s products were the right fit.
“We have recently been focusing more around infrastructure solutions. It is becoming increasingly important that servers and networks are built in a very secure manner to ensure there is no compromise in service. eEye completes our security offering and provides elements that have not been commoditised in the market.”
Graham Fox, managing director of Fresh Egg, said the two firms would work well together.
“Interquad certainly fits in with eEye’s strategy. eEye’s products conflicted with some of the other vendors that we work with and we decided it would make more sense for us to concentrate on our tier one vendors and part company,” he said.
