Avaya adds Talk Talk to mix

Channel partners wary over deal

Avaya has received a mixed reception from its resellers after signing Talk Talk Enterprise (TTE) to carry its one-X Quick Edition SIP telephony offering.
The agreement came as TTE a unit of the Carphone Warehouse Group opened its second store in north London. TEE also has agreements with Nortel and Inter-Tel.
Chris Atwood, group marketing manager at Avaya partner and SME specialist Excell, said: “I would see this as a threat because Talk Talk is traditionally more of a minutes retailer. This means someone else is moving into our market.”
However, Paul Blundell, managing director at VAR iQual, said: “If Talk Talk increases awareness of Quick Edition it will make it an easier sell.”
Steve Cove, UK SME business development director at Avaya, confirmed the vendor would expand its partnership with Talk Talk Enterprise as Carphone Warehouse rolled out the brand nationwide.
