Wick Hill signs entente with French vendors
Prime distributor deal aims to broaden French firms' UK reach
Security distributor Wick Hill has signed deals with French vendors Netask and SkyReco.
Wick Hill will act as prime UK distributor for both firms, offering Netask’s range of unified threat management (UTM) appliances and SkyRecon’s StormShield software through its channel partners.
Netask’s UTM F-Range caters for 25 to 5,000 users and offers intrusion prevention, network and application firewall, content filtering anti-virus/spam/spyware, URL filtering, IP security and Secure Socket Layer VPN, and bandwidth management.
Jean-Pierre Tomaszek, chief executive of Netask, said: “Wick Hill has the right experience and reach necessary for our development strategy. It is well known in the UK, and we already have a successful partnership with it in Germany.”
Ian Kilpatrick, managing director of Wick Hill, said: “Netask is very hot in the UTM space and provides a big opportunity for the channel because its offering is well priced. It has a big market share in France and will certainly have an impact on players such as Fortinet and Juniper.”
SkyRecon’s StormShield software blocks dangerous behaviour before it can harm a desktop or laptop, inside or outside the corporate network.
Ravy Truchot, president of SkyRecon, said: “Wick Hill is strong in marketing and technical skills and will be a crucial partner for us.”
Kilpatrick added: “We have already seen a lot of interest from our resellers. Everyone has a security policy, but the difficulty is managing those policies. With SkyRecon, we can get those policies onto the machine and ensure they are properly applied.
“Interesting things are happening in France. There is a lot of research and development and they have good solutions to offer the UK market.”
