Magirus boosts security power

Distributor on track to reach target number of vendor partners

Two weeks after its official launch, the security division of Magirus has claimed it is on track to reach its goal of eight vendor partners.

Last week the distributor signed Unified Threat Management vendor Netasq and load balancing firm Radware, and has another four partnerships in the pipeline.

Niall McGrane, director of the security division, said: “We are not trying to be a big volume security distributor. We are looking for good technology and channel opportunities. Security is now a crucial element of Magirus’ business.

“We started from nothing and already have a healthy business pipeline, some strong vendor partners and some good opportunities.”

The distributor has also extended its security focused team to six employees. Guri Geva, regional director UK, Nordics and Israel at Radware, said: “This is a win-win situation for both sides. We believe that in the next few months we will get good results, particularly as Magirus can push storage and IP traffic management alongside our product.”

Geva said the partnership will not affect Radware’s relationship with Sphinx, its other UK distributor.
