Acopia bought by F5 Networks
New acquisition to benefit channel partners, claims F5 Networks
F5 Networks has claimed channel partners will benefit from its acquisition of virtualisation vendor Acopia.
The deal, expected to close in September, will see F5 use Acopia technology to make applications available to end-users, regardless of their location. However, the vendor said until the deal closes there will be no change for its channel partners.
"It would be premature to talk of what might happen," said Sara Buttle, marketing director at F5 Networks for EMEA. "Acopia has some large customers, but is not well entrenched in the UK channel. Acopia has the right technology to help F5 improve availability and performance and F5 is well established in the UK channel.
At the right time, we will talk to our partners about continuing to work together and focus on breaking down the gaps between customer network and storage teams," she said.
