SonicWall presents resellers Christmas incentives

VARs may be glad of the security vendor's 'Cash for Christmas' gift

Security vendor SonicWall has unveiled a raft of reseller incentives designed to bolster partner margin in the run-up to Christmas.

SonicWall’s flagship scheme is the ‘Cash for Christmas’ sales incentive, whereby the vendor is offering its UK partners a share of a £250,000 rewards pot. Offered through its four UK distributors – e92plus, Tekdata, Azlan and Bell Microproducts Europe, along with Commtech in Ireland – it rewards partners with cash or vouchers on each sale completed before Christmas.

Keith Bird, managing director of UK and northern Europe at SonicWall, told CRN: “This is the biggest individual-quarter sales incentive that we have ever run.”

He added that SonicWall is running a number of schemes, including a buy-one-get-one-free offer on its continuous data protection backup appliance, a tailored upgrade programme aimed at its installed customer base and rival vendors’ customers. It is also running a scheme based on its Unified Threat Management products.

Mukesh Gupta, managing director of e92plus, said SonicWall has always been a proactive partner.

“In the past, SonicWall has struggled to get the message out to partners on its various promotions, but that has all changed,” he said. “These promotions will help with partner revenue in the fourth quarter.”

The vendor also announced its third-quarter results last week. It saw turnover increase by 33 per cent to $45.2m, compared with £34m in Q3 2005. Net profit, based on non-Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, stood at $4.3m.

Bird added that SonicWall intends to further invest in its three core product areas: network security, content management and continuous data protection. He said it also has healthy cash reserves to support its ongoing acquisition strategy.
