Updated: Computacenter's MD Walsh resigns

Simon Walsh has resigned from the corporate reseller, effective next month

Walsh has been at Computacenter since 1993

Computacenter managing director Simon Walsh has resigned after 17 years at the corporate reseller and services giant, Channelweb has learnt.

According to an email sent by Computacenter chief executive Mike Norris to staff this morning, and leaked to Channelweb, Walsh is leaving the firm in December.

As managing director, Walsh has executive responsibility for Computacenter's UK business, customer relationships, strategic development and overall commercial leadership of the UK Profit & Loss.

Norris said in the email that he wished Walsh all the best. The news comes shortly after Computacenter reported an uptick in revenue growth in its third quarter, with UK product revenues growing 22 per cent year on year.

In a statement sent to CRN, Computacenter confirmed Walsh's departure.

"After 17 years of working for Computacenter, Simon Walsh will be leaving the company at the end of December," it read. "Since initially starting out as an account manager, Simon's rise to the top and huge contribution to Computacenter's success has been great to see and we wish him all the best."
