ISP Onyx Group, has revealed it hopes to quadruple turnover in the next three years after its recent acquisition of software consultancy, Jade Integration.
Onyx has a turnover of £10m and hopes to use Jade’s expertise as a Microsoft Gold partner and its own Citrix Gold certification to reach its target by 2010.
Andrew Bromley, marketing manager at Onyx, told CRN: “We have some very ambitious plans to quadruple turnover in the next three years and we will use the solutions Jade can offer to help that grow.
“Jade has an excellent reputation in the channel and will add value to our managed services proposition.”
Jade will trade under the Onyx brand and there will be no redundancies following the deal.
Onyx, meanwhile, is confident the acquisition will have a positive effect on its channel partners.
“The acquisition will give our resellers the opportunity to offer customers the solutions in which Jade has expertise and their reaction to this has been positive,” added Bromley.
Andy MacLellan, managing director of Jade, said: “The deal makes sense and will help resellers.”
However, analysts have warned the vendor’s strategy will determine whether or not resellers can benefit.
Rob Bamforth, principal consultant at analyst house QuoCirca, said “The only realistic way Onyx can reach its targets will be through the channel. However, if it adopts a direct strategy, resellers will ultimately lose business.”
