Logicalis UK bucks global decline to grow FY10 sales

VAR puts £2.5m on its top line and holds profit steady during solid fiscal year

On the up: Logicalis claims it is optimistic about the future

Integrator Logicalis' UK operations bucked a global sales decline of 17 per cent to grow its top line during a sturdy 2010 fiscal year.

Accounts recently filed with Companies House reveal the Slough-based VAR grew UK sales for the year to 28 February by 1.4 per cent to £178m. Post-tax profit was flat at about £2.9m. The UK provided more than £163m of total sales, with £12.7m coming from the rest of the EU and more than £2m from further afield.

The integrator's staff numbers reduced about six per cent in FY10, with 17 being lost from service delivery positions, and 15 from sales and distribution roles.

Earlier this year Logicalis' parent company, Datatec, revealed the VAR's global sales declined 17 per cent in FY10 to $838.5m (£543m). In the directors' report for the year, the firm indicated it was content with its UK performance and confident about the future.

"The directors consider the profit achieved on ordinary activities before taxation of £3.7m (2009: £3.4m) and the state of affairs of the company to be satisfactory," said the report. "The directors remain optimistic about the company's future prospects."
