Teksys thinks globally with Didata

Teksys wants to become Europe's leading LAR following acquisition by networking giant

Teksys has revealed ambitious cross-border expansion plans after it was snapped up by global integrator Dimension Data (Didata) last week.

Alan Watkins, managing director of Teksys will keep his role, and the company will operate as Teksys a Dimension Data company. The existing Didata Microsoft practice will be merged into the Teksys team.

Speaking to CRN, Watkins said he has bold European expansion plans.

“It would be an obvious goal of mine to build a leading LAR in Europe,” he said, adding that part of his role will include sourcing further acquisition targets for the firm.

“Some would say this is not a good time to sell, but if the opportunity is there and it makes strategic sense, there is no reason not to,” he said.

Peter Menadue, group general manager of Microsoft solutions at Didata said: “It is very exciting for us. We have long believed that we needed to expand our presence in the UK.

“We have also been keen to broaden our services and Teksys is a perfect fit, adding critical mass in areas such as unified communications.”
