Axios Systems poised to recruit more channel partners for IT service market
Software vendor claims ITIL best-practice guidelines have caused a boom in the IT service management
Software vendor Axios Systems is looking to recruit additional channel partners because it claims IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) best-practice guidelines have caused a boom in the IT service management market.
Assyst, Axios’s core product, is an automated helpdesk and IT service management tool that supports all ITIL disciplines in a single system.
Markos Symeonides, vice-president of business development at Axios, told CRN: “The IT service management industry is booming: about 60 per cent of organisations are implementing an ITIL system. We were one of the first organisations to adopt the ITIL framework.”
Traditionally, Axios’s route to market was mainly direct but it now operates a 50/50 split between direct and indirect.
According to Symeonides, Axios has been investing heavily in its channel business.
“We’re looking for new partners,” he said. “There’s more business to be had through the channel: it is by no means saturated. The ideal resellers we’re looking for are: those that deal with large organisations; those with more than 1,000 users; channel players with a chief information officer-level interaction; an understanding of ITIL; and enterprise-level software selling experience.”
Axios’s other route to market is through managed service providers (MSPs). The vendor is also open to taking on more MSPs.
Symeonides said the firm counts CA, Hewlett-Packard, and BMC Software as competitors.
“Our differentiator is that our product gives resellers a quicker time to profit and is easier to deploy and maintain,” he claimed.
Paul Arthur, European director for solutions management at BMC, said: “We have a similar offering to Assyst with our Remedy software. The market that we both play in is a very active one. We see Axios as a niche player in the space.”
