Taylor Made is the Champion

VAR is awarded a coveted Investors in People Champion badge

We are the champions: Nigel Taylor accepts TMCS's Champions plaque

VAR Taylor Made Computer Solutions (TMCS) has been awarded an Investors in People Champion accolade.

The award is a national quality standard that is given only to firms that demonstrate a good management structure with an emphasis on best practice people management and development.

The Fareham-based VAR employs 100 people and specialises in supplying IT and training for local authorities, charities, schools and businesses across south east England. It also ranked eighth in the Sunday Times Top 100 Best Small Companies list in 2008.

Emma Downing, sales and marketing manager at TMCS, said: “Nigel and Alison Taylor founded the business in 1994 and have kept to the ethos of communicating well with their staff throughout the growth of Taylor Made.

“We are a very customer-focused business and we like to greet them with a smile, and that is reflected in how we are with each other. We share information on our in-house intranet and have quarterly staff meetings where Nigel talks us through boardroom decisions and we all have the chance to discuss plans for the future.”

She added that the staff feel Taylor Made is a happy place to work, with excellent staff retention.

“Through our work with Investors in People, we can pass on a positive message to others,” she said.

Trish Fraser, joint managing director of Inspiring Business Performance, which oversees the Investors in People Standard across London and the South East, said: “Taylor Made Computer Solutions has won praise for its open style of leadership.

"Fun is seen as important in building teams and people’s quality of life is valued. Achieving Champion status makes Taylor Made Computer Solutions among the best Investors in People companies in the whole country.”
