CacheFlow delivers content with Entera

The combination of Entera technologies and CacheFlow appliances is intended to give customers better support for streaming media services and to add end-to-end streaming content management from content provider to user.

The content delivery network (CDN) market is being created by video streaming and ebusiness, according to Cisco. The company believes that users that require faster content delivery could use CDNs.

CacheFlow will use its network of channel partners to bring the Entera offering to Europe. "This relationship will allow UK resellers to sell systems that can control and manage streaming media for customers," said Hawthorn.

He added that streaming media, such as audio, video and content distribution, is changing the internet and bringing with it new challenges. "Streaming media not only needs higher bandwidth but, more importantly, a regular delivery of data. Entera employees have been involved in the development of streaming media and they have a skills base that CacheFlow is very proud to have," he said.
