Affiniti signs Griffin to aid VoIP offering

Reseller claims partnership will broaden its market and help further VAR recruitment

Affiniti has partnered with ISP Griffin Internet to improve the VAR’s voice over IP (VoIP) offering to its channel.

IP Centrex is Affiniti’s business-class VoIP offering and is shipped solely through the reseller’s own channel.

Affiniti claimed its partnership with Griffin will improve the quality of service for IP Centrex, because the IP Centrex voice traffic will operate over Griffin’s own network and not touch the public internet.

Iain Shearman, sales director of partner services at Affiniti, said: “We have worked with Griffin for the past three years. This partnership is a natural extension of that relationship. Griffin is targeted at the channel, is business-to-business focused and has a good reputation. This partnership will help us to build a more powerful proposition.”

Shearman added that IP Centrex was packaged by Affiniti specifically for its channel and it appeals to mainly traditional voice resellers.

“We operate with 30 different resellers, 12 of which are IP Centrex resellers,” he said. “The number of IP Centrex VARs is rising by about six a month. This partnership broadens the market and will help further reseller recruitment.”

Andrew Dickinson, sales and marketing director at Griffin, said: “This partnership highlights Griffin’s voice quality network. There are very few ISPs that are able to provide this voice guarantee.”

John Dawson, managing director of Griffin, said: “We have been working with Affiniti on and off for several years. We provide only business broadband, and Affiniti can now look after its multi-sited customers.”
