True Colours Distribution signs Digital View digital signage
ViewStream solid-state media players added to AV specialist portfolio
Media players that support digital signage applications have been added to True Colours distribution
Technical AV specialist True Colours has announced a new distribution partnership with media player vendor Digital View.
Dave Raymen, technical director at True Colours, said the media player company offered reliable, cost-effective products that are easy to use and do not need network connectivity.
Richard Cobbold, managing director at Digital View, said the distributor’s experience and technical expertise would enhance its market presence in the AV and IT sectors.
Digital View makes the ViewStream brand of solid-state media players.
Raymen said that the product would help providers refine and focus their content.
“The term digital signage is usually associated with a screen that displays a combination of live video, static advertisements, tickers and RSS feeds,” he said.
“However, digital signage can often be more refined and focused with single, full-screen content.”
Traditional print media and video commercials are not split into multiple information areas because the main message becomes diluted, he added.
Digital View has a range of external small-format players, some with HD. Its players deliver full-screen media updated via CF card or USB stick and ‘video flyers’ with touch screen.
“This is an attractive product for projects that do not require frequent content changes and are not budget reliant on expensive IT infrastructure and technical support,” said Raymen.
