Micro-P steps into digital signage
Distributor selects all-in-one player for new opportunities
Digital signage can make in-roads in broader markets through distribution
Micro-P has signed an agreement with HydraVision to distribute its all-in-one digital signage player.
Darren Cremins, business development manager at HydraVision, said the new partnership was about targeting a wider range of customers through Micro-P’s broad IT reseller base.
“By getting into the distribution channel, it kind of broadens things out for us,” Cremins said.
“If you sell direct, to one customer, that is one sale. If you sell to a reseller, that is a few more sales. With a distributor relationship, you can have even more.”
For Micro-P, digital signage is a new area of focus, he added.
“They have not really picked up a digital signage product and run with it before. Until now, they have been looking around for a few years,” Cremins said.
The launch via Micro-P will happen “shortly”, with training commencing next week.
“It is software in a box, playing media with decent content and resolution, that can be managed either directly on the box or via a web portal, or you can set it up as a client-server relationship,” Cremins said.
“It is not Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). You can buy the server and the client and away you go. It is doing well in the education market"
