Westcoast kicks off World Cup 2010 promotion
Distributor partners with Microsoft to offer five lucky resellers the footie trip of a lifetime and the chance to raise money for charity
Cheering for England: Westcoast is offering five lucky winners the World Cup trip of a lifetime
Westcoast is jumping on to the World Cup bandwagon by offering its resellers a tempting promotion to get in the thick of the footie action and also to help a worthy AIDS charity.
The distributor, in partnership with Microsoft, has signed up to Kick4Life, a charity that helps deprived HIV-positive children in Africa through the magic of football and sport in general.
There are five places up for grabs, each with two tickets, and the winners are decided via a raffle draw system. Resellers are requested to score goals to get raffle tickets – such as attending a Westcoast event or passing Microsoft sales exams. The draw is expected to take place around 5 May.
Not only will the winning resellers secure World Cup tickets to a match, but will go on a mini-safari, a tour of the Boer War battlefields and take part in a charity football training match with Kick4Life, Westcoast and Microsoft in Lesotho.
Alex Tatham, sales and marketing director at Westcoast, said: “It is a prize with a difference. I want our customers to feel that not only are they getting the trip of a lifetime, but also that they are helping to give support and funds to Kick4Life.
“Westcoast and Microsoft have both committed support to the charity and the more entrants that take part in Westcoast’s competition, the more funds will be raised. This, together with the profit the charity can make from organising the trip, should ensure that the charity receives a really large sum of money with which they can continue their work.
“All of us at Westcoast are delighted to support such a worthy cause. It will be a trip, for those lucky enough to win a place, never to be forgotten.”
Ben Feutado, Microsoft product manager, Westcoast, said: “Football and South Africa are already synonymous in 2010 and Westcoast has often supported sporting charities. However, it is a privilege to provide funds to a charity that not only helps children, but children suffering from the effects of HIV on them and their families.
"Kick4Life can really show how sport can help and will show the real importance of soccer in South Africa. We are delighted to support the charity and provide a focus for our Microsoft sales at the same time," he added.
