Trustmarque gets Tough on Scotland
Software LAR appoints Garry Tough as new country manager
Scotland accounts for about 15 per cent of Trustmarque's overall sales
Microsoft LAR Trustmarque has given Garry Tough, newly appointed country manager for Scotland, the task of driving sales in the region.
With more than 15 years' experience in the IT and telecoms market, Tough joins the LAR from network provider Thus Plc, where he held a number of senior sales roles spanning 10 years.
Scott Haddow, chief executive of Trustmarque, said: “I am delighted that we have appointed such an experienced head to drive our sales forward in Scotland.
“He has a strong network of contacts, an outstanding sales record and he will certainly build on our existing presence. Currently Scotland accounts for about 15 per cent of overall sales and with Garry leading our sales initiatives we expect this to grow to 25 per cent.”
On his new appointment Tough said: “The challenge is for the company to move up the value chain and to evolve from a transactional to a more value-based sales model.
“To do this we need to build the service proposition for the company and I see this new environment offering fresh challenges and opportunities, particularly in Scotland, where I have a strong network of contacts.”
In addition to Tough, Trustmarque has also appointed two new solution specialists.
Jamie Donnelly joins Trustmarque from business outsourcer EDS, where he was responsible for the development and growth of a £44m UK managed services business, and Kevin Trinkwon joins the LAR from reseller Computacenter where he was business development manager for three years.
Haddow said Trustmarque has grown its workforce by 10 per cent over the past 12 months and has plans to increase this by a further 10 per cent: “We plan to build on our service proposition and this means hiring new talent and developing an even stronger team to lead the company to greater heights.”
