Cisco calls on Eyretel for VoIP system

Networking giant integrates UK vendor's products

UK-based Eyretel has signed a deal with Cisco to integrate its proprietary MediaStoreIP VoIP contact centre system into Cisco's call processing technology.

MediaStoreIP digitally records, monitors and analyses voice and data traffic on the same network infrastructure, allowing users to manage all customer communications on a single system.

As well as reducing cabling and hardware requirements, it enables businesses to quickly develop new applications as the adoption of VoIP becomes more widespread.

Nick McLean, director of marketing at Eyretel, said: "Over the last two years we have focused on the call centre market for the recording of conversations. These systems are evolving to carry voice and data together over IP. This is a new market and it will probably start with small deployment. We see the reseller community, with its close customer relationships, as the perfect route to market."

The deal with Cisco allows MediaStoreIP to be integrated with Cisco's intelligent call processing components, CallManager and IP Contact Centre.

"We have developed the recording platform to work with Cisco's products, but it is an open product that will also work with other vendor offerings," said McLean.

Eyretel currently uses a variety of distribution channels around the world, including resellers with expertise in call centres as well as direct sales.

Peta Banbury, marketing director at Cisco premier partner Cisilion UK, believes there is a good market for MediaStoreIP. "It is an emerging marketplace and we see this as a key tool that customers will require," she said. The company both uses and sells MediaStoreIP technology.

As a result of the Cisco deal, Eyretel is working with Cisco resellers across Europe to establish knowledge and expertise about MediaStoreIP. However, the company said it is looking to discuss reseller agreements with any company that is willing and able to supply the product.

Eyretel provides technical, sales and marketing training as part of its partner programme.
