Dantz steps further into channel

Success claimed for partner programme recruitment

Backup software maker Dantz Development is claiming a successful year of channel recruitment for its partner programme, which was launched in June.

The vendor sells about 90 per cent of its Retrospect software through the channel. Before the launch of its reseller initiative the company sold through resellers on an ad hoc basis, but it now boasts four Premier partners.

Albion Computers, Knibbs Computer Services, Save9 and System Support are the first resellers to achieve this top-level status.

The company offers two levels of accreditation for free, but Premier partners must commit to a certain level of sales, while Associate partners, which receive less vendor support, have no sales targets.

Khalid Arif, UK channel manager at Dantz, said: "The partner programme allowed us to talk to resellers that already knew the product and offer them support to push the product through to the SME sector," he said.

Tim Knibbs, managing director of software and services reseller Knibbs Computer Services, said: "We originally started working with Dantz as a replacement vendor because we had some heartache from other backup products.

"The support and channel management is good, and we receive leads and marketing support. It is doing the same things, but it has now put a proper channel in place."
