3CX to double UK VARs to cope with demand
Recruitment drive by 3CX aims to capitalise on increasing downloads of its free PBX software
Stephen Corrigan: people are moving away from the traditional telephony model
Software PBX provider 3CX is aiming to recruit 150 “entrepreneurial” Microsoft resellers after claiming it has too many leads for its current channel to handle.
The Cyprus-based vendor currently has about 100 UK partners, but is aiming to swell that to 250 over the next 12 months.
With the free version of its software now being downloaded by 30,000 end users a month, 3CX said it needs the channel’s help to translate that into commercial opportunities.
Stephen Corrigan, 3CX’s first UK channel manager, said higher-level Premium partners could earn up to 25 margin points on the software.
“This is a good time to get into this market,” he said. “People are moving away from the traditional telephony model.”
3CX’s PBX sits on Windows and Corrigan stressed he was looking for VARs with Microsoft technical skills and “entrepreneurial flair”. Free training has been available since April.
Graham Francis, managing director of VAR Vocale, said: “3CX’s product is easy to configure and support is excellent, so I think it will do well.”
