Distributor replaces electronic sales guide with paper version

Value-added distributor Crane has returned to using a paper-based sales guide for resellers rather than distributing a solely electronic one.

"With the number of CDs floating around our sales guys were crying out for something in paper that didn't need them to fire up laptops, while having a software copy to fall back on," said Simon Longhurst, business development manager at Crane.

The guide covers key changes in Avaya's architecture and details the range of configurations, including part numbers for quick ordering. Crane has also made a commitment to its resellers that any part ordered will be delivered within 24 hours.

"Like many manufacturers Avaya has moved to a server/gateway architecture, so now there's much more choice on set-up options. We've had nothing but excellent feedback so far," Longhurst added.

Ian Byron, managing director of reseller Powerdial Systems, said: "Having a hard copy means I can check things without needing to start up the laptop. I find that more convenient than web-based information."
