CCS Media guns for larger VMware deals

VAR partners with Interface for VMware skill set

Support: Interface will provide its support services to CCS Media for VMware implementations

VAR CCS Media has partnered with distributor Interface, part of SCH Distribution (SCHD), around VMware in a bid to gain an advantage over its channel rivals.

The support from Interface will supplement CCS Media’s own VMware skills, which it claims will enable it to win larger projects without adding additional in-house resources.

Through the partnership, Interface will provide white-label pre-sales services, configuration, implementation, integration, disposal and training services for CCS Media’s VMware installations.

Tony Cooke, IT director at CCS Media, said: “The ability to offer a complete array of pre- and post-sales services to our customers around VMware, without acquiring additional in-house skills, is invaluable and already delivering significant sales opportunities to us.”

Interface will provide its support services to CCS Media for VMware implementations irrespective of the end user’s hardware platform and infrastructure.

SCHD was the first distributor to adopt VMware’s competency framework in Europe through its ETC, Interface and Interchange brands. CCS Media will have access to more than 800 engineers, which includes a team of accredited VMware Certified Professionals and VMware Certified Instructors (VCI).

Cooke added: “CCS Media, with support from Interface, recently undertook a VMware Capacity Planning pre-sales project which highlighted that our customer was using just seven per cent of its total CPU capacity across their server estate.

“The customer will now reduce its server estate by more than 85 per cent; saving cooling and power consumption costs and it will run a number of virtual servers using VMware. The Capacity Planning project has opened a window for us to sell VMware, which is a position we might not have been in if this partnership did not exist.”
