TSG acquires in Scotland
Acquisition hungry reseller makes second buy in two months
Technology Services Group (TSG) has extended its CRM presence with its second acquisition in two months, that of Sage reseller Edinburgh Microsystems.
It is TSG's 15th acquisition since October 2003, at least six of which have had a Sage or Pegasus software focus.
Nigel Hudson, business development director at TSG, said of Edinburgh Microsystems: "Its focus is on Sage Line 100 and Sage MMS and we wanted to bolster our customer base in that space. It also extends our skills and focus in Scotland."
Last year, reseller Logcom Group entered administration after an aggressive acquisition strategy. However, Hudson rejected claims that this could happen to TSG.
Martin Hamill, managing director of Sage reseller Clarendon Accounting Solutions, said: "This is a good strategy for TSG, and if it pushes for a benchmark then the rest will have to follow. TSG will set the standard."
