Vendors tout joy of text
Text messaging firms court channel
Text messaging vendors are courting the channel to try to increase corporate messaging use in business.
Corporate messaging vendors TextAnywhere and 2sms have announced updates to their channel programmes, claiming the service will boost data revenues for resellers.
TextAnywhere, which has 25 channel partners, is looking to double its reseller base in the next three months by introducing commissions and a reseller web portal, while 2sms is offering white-labelled services to corporate messaging resellers.
"Text messaging is growing by 25 per cent year on year, and corporate messaging is proving to be the biggest growth area," said Nick Payne, director at TextAnywhere.
Payne claimed VARs can earn 20 per cent commission by introducing businesses to the vendor's messaging product. This can be accessed via the web or added to a company's email platforms.
"It is not going to replace email or the phone, but it can message a great number of staff or customers in seconds," Payne said.
Timothy King, managing director of 2sms, said enterprises were showing more interest in corporate messaging, which can be used to send reminders to customers and updates to employees.
"Resellers also will be able to brand our product and offer it as their own service," he said.
Mark Bryan, director at TextAnywhere reseller Corporate Communications House, said: "Corporate messaging brings an extension to our communications portfolio, and commissions are very generous."
