Oracle backs UK resellers

Oracle has revealed that three UK resellers have had industry-specific solutions approved under its new Accelerate programme

The initiative, which was launched in the UK in March (CRN, 8 March), is designed to enable VARs to build vertically-tailored bundles packaged and priced for SMEs.

UK financial services resellers Application Lynx and Symatrix, and wholesale distribution specialist Whitehouse, have all now had their bundles green-lighted by the software giant, although Oracle is keen to get many more on board.

Hazel Nash, senior director of Oracle Applications for SMEs, said initial take-up among VARs had been 'very positive'.

'We've had 25 global partners that have had their methodology approved and a pipeline of partners in the process of going through the programme.'

Nash said Oracle had a string of UK partners waiting in line to have their offerings approved but added that the vendor still has gaps to fill in verticals such as the legal sector.

Mark Pulling, managing director at Application Lynx, said: 'The intellectual property weíve developed over a number of years will now be backed up by Oracle through joint marketing and PR campaigns.'
