Sirocom bundles RSA tools for safer access
VNO adds to remote services offering with RSA technology
Virtual network operator (VNO) Sirocom has bolstered its Siroconnect remote services offering with a managed authentication solution based on RSA technology.
The VNO, which was acquired by Azzurri earlier this month (CRN, 6 November) has been working closely with RSA to develop the offering, which gives end-users the choice of paying over a three-year period.
RSA is now the security division of EMC after being acquired in the summer (CRN, 10 July).
Siroconnect is available to Sirocom’s customers through a flexible bundled pricing package that also allows them to take the services on a “pooled hours” basis.
Richard Neale, Siroconnect product manager, said: “The essence of Siroconnect is to deliver a complete end-to-end managed service and the utopia is being able to offer a cost-per-user-per-month solution. RSA is one of our longest-standing partners and traditionally we have sold SecurID in the normal way, by licences and tokens, but this model avoids the up-front costs, and selling on a subscription-based model makes it far more attractive to customers.”
Neale added that it was unusual for Sirocom to add new vendors to its Siroconnect offering.
“We always strive to make sure that the offering is the best it can be, but it is rare for us to add new vendors to our portfolio,” he said. “We have worked with RSA for around eight years and this latest development can only improve our relationship.”
Nick Churchley, Sirocom channel manager at RSA, commented: “This is a good example of RSA being in tune with its partners. We had a conversation with Siroconnect to explore how Sirocom can be successful with our technology. And we worked with it to build this model that better fits its business.”
