Misco takes Comic Relief calls

Online VAR offers support as call centre for Red Nose Day

Misco plans to help Comic Relief raise more than the £67m achieved in 2007

Employees from e-tailor Miscoare giving up their Friday night this week to help staff the official Red Nose Day 09 donation line.

Based in Northants, the 120-strong team will be taking calls throughout the live TV show on BBC One.

Sandy Price, UK general manager at Misco, said: “We are delighted to once again be involved in this event.

“In July 2004, Misco acted as a call centre for Sport Relief, managing more than 6,800 calls and taking a staggering £172,000 in donations, the second-largest amount of donations of the 54 call centres that participated throughout the country.”

On the support from call centres, Jan Brown, Comic Relief’s campaign logistics officer, said: “Misco is one of a team of call centres helping us to manage these all-important calls, and we would like to say a massive thank you to all the staff who have given up their Friday night to be a part of it.

“Thanks to our brilliant volunteers and BT, Red Nose Day call centres will form a virtual network of a staggering 12,000 lines, which will really help us raise our total and change lives.”

Red Nose Day coverage is due to start on 13 March at 7pm on BBC One.
