BT is determined to become a significant channel player in the ecommerce market and wants to sell its internet-based procurement services such as MarketSite and BT Trading Places through third parties.
BT also plans to introduce specialised accreditation schemes within its e-business solution provider (eSP) channel programme, and will announce a joint promotion with Cisco and SphinxCST.
Mike Smith, eSP programme manager at BT, said: "Early next year we are launching an electronic partner interface which will also act as an e-products order point."
The first eSP accreditation will be Internet Security Specialist, based on BT's TrustWise digital certificates product. BT wants to recruit ISPs to build the TrustWise product into their services. A programme to encourage customer referrals will also be introduced as part of the ePartner website.
