Texas Memory Systems in enterprise deal with HMK Computer Technologies
Partnership will see HMK sell vendor's RamSan solid state disks in Europe
Solid state storage systems vendor Texas Memory Systems has signed a European-wide reseller agreement with channel partner HMK Computer Technologies.
Under the terms of the agreement, HMK will target enterprise businesses, research facilities and universities across Europe. HMK will sell Texas Memory Systems' RamSan solid state disks, which the vendor has claimed enables firms to accelerate databases and scientific applications.
Dr Klaus Heihoff, managing director of HMK, which has about 50 employees and generated a turnover of 5.5m euros last year, said: “HMK added the Texas Memory Systems line of solid state disks because of its long-standing reputation for high performance and reliability.”
The RamSan range includes standard SDRam storage and includes support for eight 1GB and 2GB Fibre Channel ports at 3Gbps. The vendor claimed that the range typically appeals to end-users in the financial, telecommunications, military, research, government and e-commerce vertical markets.
Woody Hutsell, executive vice-president at Texas Memory Systems, said: “Adding HMK to our roster of European business partners was a natural decision.
“HMK has the kind of expertise and services that sophisticated organisations value and demand. HMK also has a reputation for working closely with its customers to ensure individual needs are met.”
In 2004, Texas Memory Systems announced that it was looking to build a channel in the UK and has since been steadily expanding its reseller base, both in the UK and across Europe.
