Distributor brings world's smallest full-featured motherboard to the UK

Realtime Distribution has teamed up with processor and components manufacturer Via Technology to launch the world’s smallest full-featured motherboard in the UK.

Based on the Pico-ITX form factor, the EPIA PX Pico-ITX 10000G motherboard measures 10cm x 7.2cm and is designed for use in ultra compact embedded PCs, systems and appliances. The board is the first to embed x86 technology into such a small device and is powered by Via’s 1GHz, low-power C7 processor.

The board supports up to 1GB of double data rate (DDR2) 533 So-Dimm system memory and features the Via VX700 system media processor, which houses the UniChrome Pro II IGP 3D/2D graphics core, Mpeg-2/-4 and WMV9 hardware decoding acceleration, a high-definition audio codec and display functionality.

The low-power C7 chip combined with DDR2 memory, means the 10000G motherboard consumes just 13Watts of power when in use. On the storage front, the board supports numerous hard drive options, with one serial ATA and one UltraDMA 133 connector. There is a multimedia connector and an audio connector that supports line-out, line-in, mic-in, S/PDIF in and 7.1 channel audio output.
