Perry heads up assault on Sage
Accounting software vendor appoints new channel manager
Financial software vendor Pegasus is gunning for rival Sage as it looks to grow its channel with 40 new partners.
The firm last week appointed Nick Perry as its new channel recruitment manager. Perry will be responsible for expanding Pegasus' 120 UK reseller partnerships and growing the business through them.
He will also be responsible for forming alliances with other VARs currently reselling other vendors' accounting software suites, such as Sage Line 100, thereby increasing its UK presence.
Gary Turner, managing director of Pegasus, told CRN the expansion will "inevitably scoop up" some Sage resellers. "Sage channel partners match our own profile. Its channel contains some ideal partners, but we are casting our net further afield as well. Our indirect sales model means that we rely on our network of partners to help us build on this success. Nick's appointment will be central to this endeavour."
Perry added: "I'm actively looking for partners to work with us to build business and ultimately boost productivity. We are in an ideal position to take our integrated solution portfolio to a new community of partners."
David Ball, sales director at Pegasus reseller Computime, said: "Increasing the number of Pegasus resellers will increase competition, but will also help to raise the Pegasus profile. The important thing is that we are still able to add value around its products."
Sage declined to comment.
